The Edinburgh Comedy Tour is a downloadable audio walking tour that guides you round famous comic sites of the Edinburgh Fringe. Produced by Walking Heads Ltd, this is a walking tour with a difference, which peels back layers of history and folklore to reveal that fact is not just stranger but often funnier than fiction. This is a side of Edinburgh you wont find in guide books.
Our guide on the tour, blind local historian Jamie MacDonald, is helped and hindered by his hapless assistant Harry Gooch as he sets out to explore old and new venues of the Edinburgh Fringe. Together they will lead you on a hilarious tour of Scotland’s capital city peppered with anecdotes from comedians Bruce Morton and Susan Morrison. Very few stones are left unturned.
The 90 minute tour starts at the Fringe Shop in the Royal Mile and ends at The Stand Comedy Club in York Place. Other venues in between include Underbelly, Udderbelly, Gilded Balloon, Assembly and The Pleasance. Key venues are marked on the map and the audio tour also includes clear descriptions of how to get from one destination to the next with time for more stories from Bruce and Susan on the way.
